Why Contact Up Your Grade?
This student received multi-subject support throughout Years 12 and 13, working with Up Your Grade tutors in English Literature, Business BTEC, and Politics.
Her mum first got in touch because her daughter – a motivated and thoughtful student with dyslexia – needed more structured, consistent support across subjects. She praised Jane (English) for being warm, passionate, and for encouraging her daughter to think differently and push herself. Meanwhile, Alex, who supported her in Politics, was described as dynamic and energetic — helping bring energy to a subject that needed momentum.
The Results
Across the board, the student made excellent progress. Her predicted grades improved from a D to a C in English and Politics, allowing her to secure university offers she hadn’t previously expected. In Business, she went one step further — scoring a Distinction in her coursework and finishing top of her year group.
The Future
Although she continues to work hard and has some concerns around upcoming exams, she’s now in a far stronger academic position. She plans to study Business at Northumbria University, or potentially go through UCAS clearing if she exceeds expectations.
The family also mentioned they may be in touch again soon for support with a younger daughter in Year 10.
